When people ask me which shoe to buy without overthinking it, the answer is almost always Selkirk. It’s the big brand, and for once the hype is earned. These are the regular Court Strikes (not the Court Strike Pros) — the same line Jack Sock put on the map, though he’s since moved to the 2.0s. I grabbed the 2.0 colorway too and the scheme is clean.
Springy from the very first step
Like all the best shoes here, the Court Strike plays almost unreal straight out of the box — no break-in needed. On day one these were the springiest shoes I’ve ever played in. The regular Court Strike comes in lighter than the Pro (the Pro is tuned for sturdiness), and since I used to play a lot of singles, the lighter shoe is easier on the foot and makes you feel a step faster. I wore these religiously for a solid month straight when I first got them.
The outsole warranty is the secret weapon
Here’s what makes Selkirk the value king. When you buy, you can register for their 6-month outsole warranty. Wear through the outsole within six months and they send you a brand-new pair. For the hardcore players who actually do grind down an outsole, that’s two pairs for the price of one.
Selkirk knows their buyer is usually an enthusiast who plays a lot. The warranty is a bet that you’ll wear the best materials out — and if you do, they’ve got you.
Support that’s genuinely unmatched
The thing I love most beyond the shoe itself is the customer support. It’s fast, it’s willing, and if you ever get a manufacturing defect they go to lengths to make it right. In my experience it’s top-notch — and that’s coming from someone who’s tested every brand on this site.
The one knock
The toe-drag area wears quickly. It’s a recurring theme across pickleball shoes, but the Court Strike shows it sooner than the armored options like the Winner’s Edge or Montis. There’s also no dedicated wide version — though oddly it still runs roomier than the wide version of some competitors.
If you don’t want to think about it and just want a great shoe that lasts (and might net you a second pair for free), the Court Strikes are the way to go.
